Transfer week is quite crazy. Full of lots of driving.
Monday we drove up to Durango and go the new missionaries. It looks like a great group (they all do). We got 4 sisters and 2 Elders. The drive home was fun with just the two Elders.
Tuesday was transfer day and we were driving the van all day and it was fun. I love being around the other missionaries. You can make a lot of incredible friendships on a mission. We arrived home safe and sound.
Wednesday was a really sad day. My Hero, Elder Jensen went home. He was the only Elder going home and then the 3 Sisters were not at the airport. 2 of them got picked up by their parents and the other had to stay an extra week. So we just drove Elder Jensen up in our truck and met President and Sister Adams there. It is funny, the Adams don’t like it when I am sad at the airport and they always try to cheer me up. (it usually doesn’t work) but then once I get back and start working I feel happy again.
We had some wonderful lessons this week. M.’s baptism is this Saturday coming up and we went over the baptismal interview questions with her and she has such a wonderful testimony. She is so amazing!!!
The S. are doing amazing as ever. They are still coming to church and loving it. We have an appointment with them tonight. They are really changing their lives around for the Gospel!!
The K. family is doing incredible. They are this Navajo Family of 7 we teach and the mothers dad is a preacher out in Teec Nos Pos and they drive out their every Sunday well on Wednesday we invite them to come to church and they said “We have already planned to go to Teec this week but we can try next week” That was amazing!!!! It is a big step for them.
Friday we had a DLLC (District Leader Leadership Council) with all the District Leaders here at the mission home. It was a fun meeting and very productive. We have some incredible District Leaders.
It just really amazes me how much Heavenly Father Blesses us!! At the begging of any transfer (especially this one) we are so busy, but some how Heavenly Father guides us to those who are prepared. He is in the details of our lives. I PROMISE!!!
He has really blessed me with optimism. Last night I was upset (I don’t remember why) and I was trying to be all down in the dumps, but I just couldn’t!! Things are just too good to be sad. WE have a Savior, who will make all things right, a God who loves us with all His heart, might, mind and strength who blesses us when we try.
I love you all and testify that this is the Lord’s true church upon the earth and that missionary work is the life blood of it and we all need to take a part in it!! It is so much fun!
Love, Elder Johnston
