Slower than tar moving up hill backwards in the winter

This week has been way slow. People just keep “rescheduling” we had almost no appointments this week so we are starting to rethink our finding efforts. I have been reading a lot in chapter 9 in PMG. I have felt really prompted to use family history in finding so we are trying to figure out how to do that. Elder Geilman even asked me to give the district training on using family history in finding and contacting. AAAHHH it will be good though, I have already learned a lot just by studying for it.

We went on exchanges with the zone leaders this week. That was fun, I learned a lot. We also were able to go to a baptism. A girl in fourth ward that Elder Geilman was teaching before he got split (last transfer they were in fourth and fifth ward now we are just in fifth and the zone leaders are in fourth) got baptized and because Elder Geilman is the D.L. he got to do the interview and she asked him to perform the baptism. It was really cool to see. We were there early and he was changing and I was just sitting there looking at the font full of water and it was just a cool thing to see. An amazing experience.

Fifth ward hasn’t been to good. Romando due to some legal reasons with the foster care isn’t able to meet with us or come to church until it get cleared up but hopefully it will get cleared up soon. The lawyer said to Romando “so you are going to the mormon church now?” and Romnado responded with “yes I have friends there, it make me happy, I feel good about it and I know that it is what I need to do.” When Bro. Everett (his foster dad) told us that I was so happy. Now we just need to get in to meet with him and continue to teach him.
Valerie isn’t doing so good either. She keeps rescheduling so we haven’t gotten in to see her for over 2 weeks. So please pray for her.

We are working with some less actives and Sandra and Charolette (mom and daughter) came to church, it was so good to see them there.
We are also teaching the Washburns, both natives, he is a true Lamenite it is awesome. He is a sculpture, he gets rocks and makes things out of it and it is really amazing. I told him I was going to come ask him to make me something at the end of my mission and he said he would love to. Anyway he is kinda reacitvating himself but he asked us to come by to teach his wife. We stopeed by yesterday and talked about the Book of Mormon and she was really accepting to it and committed to read it so that was good.

We have also started to work with the Bishop a bit more trying to increase our investigator pool. Hopefully that will improve within the next week.

That’s all for now

Love you all

Love Elder Johnston
